Allendale will see new security cameras at Crestwood

"Two security cameras [would] be posted at or near the snack stand, one looking south, one looking north, tied into the server at the police station, with internet capability," Bernstein said.

The cost is approximately $10,000 for both cameras at Crestwood and he reported that Electronic Service Solutions (ESS) gave the best quote and would most likely do the work.

Police Chief George Scherb said in an interview that ESS gave the quote last fall but "we need a request for proposal to bring in quotes." The police department talked to three companies about Crestwood last year and got quotes from two of them and ESS gave the best quote.

"There's [currently] a request for bids and for specs [requirements]," he said.

He added the company and cost will be dependent on the number of bids received and a request for proposal still needs to be sent out.

Scherb said the borough indicated they would like the two cameras to be installed before winter.
